Early prevention
Building belonging and positive role models from a young age to help steer young people away from violence.
Black fathers are often judged by a story that does not reflect the full truth. We exist to change that picture.
Too often, society focuses on absence rather than the love, effort and commitment many Black fathers show every day. And many face real barriers in family support, education, employment, mental health and the courts.
We exist to close that gap: building community, offering practical help, and creating a stronger picture of Black fatherhood for today's families and the next generation.
Read our story and aimsStrong fathers help build safer communities
Children who grow up with present fathers and positive role models grow up with belonging, confidence and identity, some of the strongest protections a young person can have.
By bringing fathers and children together from a young age, we help young people feel rooted long before they are ever pulled toward harm. It is how we play our part in steering them away from violence, including knife and gun crime: not reacting after the fact, but building strong foundations early. Prevention is better than cure, and it begins with family, role models and belonging.
Our prevention approachBuilt for fathers, families and the people around them
- 01Black fathers who want support, connection or guidance.
- 02Children and young people who benefit from stronger father-child relationships.
- 03Families who want healthier communication, confidence and stability.
- 04Supporters, volunteers and donors who believe in strengthening families.
- 05Schools, councils, charities and services that want to work better with Black fathers.
A future where Black fathers are respected and recognised
When fathers are supported, children grow with stronger identity, confidence and belonging. Families become more stable. Communities become safer and more connected.
This is long-term work with a generational impact.
